Steve Guasch is a percussionist, producer, and bandleader. Born in Manhattan, New York, he relocated at three years old to Bayamón, Puerto Rico, where he grew up in the neighborhoods of Santa Juanita, Magnolia, and Campo Alegre. Influenced by his father's record collection and the local music scene, he later moved to Seattle, Washington, in 1987, where he began participating in the Pacific Northwest salsa scene.
In addition to performing, Guasch is the leader of the Seattle-based salsa group Nueva Era. He also established Salsaneo Records, an independent record label through which he has produced salsa and Latin jazz projects.
Guasch's catalog features the 2026 album "Buscando La Verdad" and the 2026 single "La Salsa Pedurará". His other recorded works include the singles "Ya La Encontre" and "Sombrero Done No Hay Cabeza".
