Algareplena is a youth tropical music group originating from Arecibo, Puerto Rico. Led by musical director and vocalist Jonuel, the ensemble specializes in combining traditional Puerto Rican plena and bomba with salsa, merengue, bachata, bolero, and batucada, occasionally incorporating elements of reggaeton and electronic music.
The group established its presence with early releases such as "La Tabla" and "No Hay Quien Nos Pare" in 2018, followed by "Danza Kachonda" in 2019 and "Vamos a Bailar (Remix)" in 2020. Algareplena achieved significant success in Puerto Rico with their 2023 single "El Traketeo", which held the number-one spot on local radio charts for four consecutive weeks.
Algareplena has maintained a consistent output of singles, including "iYa Es Viernes!", "El Sippy", and "Pa' celebrar" in 2022, "La Tapita" in 2024, and the 2025 releases "Ella No Baila" and "Soy De AquÃ".
