La Dimensión Latina is a Venezuelan salsa orchestra founded on March 15, 1972, in Caracas, Venezuela. The ensemble was established by six musicians: Jose "Joseíto" Rodríguez, pianist Enrique "Culebra" Iriarte, trombonists César "Albóndiga" Monges and José Antonio "Rojitas" Rojas, conga player Elio Pacheco, and bassist and vocalist Oscar D'León, who eventually arose as one of the most influential figures in Latin music.
Over the course of its career, the orchestra has released 37 albums, helping shape the early history and dissemination of salsa across the American continent. In recognition of its cultural legacy, the Alcaldía Libertador of Caracas declared the group a Cultural Heritage (Patrimonio Cultural) on June 12, 2012.
In addition to its extensive album catalog, the group's recorded output includes the singles "¡Quieren Salsa!" and "Me falta el Tiempo."
