Salsa vocalist Barbarita Fernández, known professionally as Barbarita or Barbarita de Cuba, was born on March 16 in Camagüey, Cuba. She first rose to prominent international notice as a lead vocalist for the Cuban salsa group Dan Den, particularly establishing a strong presence and popularity in Peru during the late 1990s and 2000s. Over a career spanning more than three decades, she has performed extensively across the globe.
Her repertoire includes notable salsa tracks such as "Torbellino de amor" and "Mi cuerpo." Among her solo catalog releases is the single "Amame Con Tu Experiencia," released in 2026. Throughout her musical career, she has also collaborated with prominent figures in the genre, including David Calzado of Charanga Habanera.
