Luis Damón is an American salsa and freestyle singer who grew up in New York to Puerto Rican parents. He entered the Latin music scene in 1996 after signing an international multi-album deal with the WEA Latina (Warner Music) label. That same year, he released his debut Spanish-language album, Solo. The album's lead single, a cover of Luis Miguel’s "Me Niego Estar Solo," became a radio favorite. Following the success of his debut, Damón received a nomination for Tropical New Artist of the Year at the 1997 Lo Nuestro Awards.
In 1998, Damón recorded "Para Estar Contigo," a duet with Puerto Rican-American singer Olga Tañón which peaked at number 30 on the Billboard Latin Songs chart. The duet appeared on his 1998 album of the same name, which was followed by a self-titled album in 1999. Damón maintained an active presence in both the tropical salsa and freestyle music genres.
In the following decades, Damón continued to release new music. His releases include the collaborative single "Mi Declaración" featuring Julius Cesar in 2015, and "Rompecabeza" in 2020. In 2021, he compiled his catalog across a series of releases titled Luis Damon Salsa Hits (Volumes 1, 2, and 3). His more recent singles include "Como Me Sorprendes" in 2024 and "Un Amor De La Calle" in 2025.
