Mónica Andrea Vives Orozco, known professionally as Maía, is a Colombian singer-songwriter born on November 16, 1981, in Barranquilla, Colombia. Often referred to by the nickname "La niña bonita de la salsa," she is recognized for her exceptionally wide vocal range, which allows her to transition between vocal registers ranging from tenor to soprano. Her musical style integrates elements of salsa, Colombian pop, tropipop, and other tropical Colombian genres.
