Eduardo Zayas is a Puerto Rican composer born in Ponce and raised in Juana Díaz. Prior to establishing himself in the salsa scene, he served in the United States military, retiring after 26 years of service. As a songwriter, Zayas draws inspiration from street rumba, bolero, and jazz, frequently incorporating social themes into his compositions.
In 2019, he launched his musical project, Eduardo Zayas y su EZ La Banda, with the debut double album "Nacido entre titanes." The release featured exclusively original compositions by Zayas performed by various guest singers from different locations. His musical output spans salsa, mambo, and timba.
Zayas released his third studio production, the double album "Más Zayas Que Pesca'o," in 2023. This was followed by the album "Salsa Con Perfume De Mujer" in 2025. During this period, he also released a steady succession of singles, including "Un Grammy Pa' Navidad" (2022), "La Tierra Mía" (2023), "Tierra de Gigantes" (2024), "Corazón de Lechón" (2024), and "Jibaro Salsero" (2025).
