Gerardo Rivera Donis, known professionally as Moa Rivera, is a Puerto Rican salsa singer and songwriter. Born in Puerto Rico, he is the son of the prominent salsa artist Jerry Rivera, who has supported his career. Rivera entered the music industry with the goal of honoring his musical roots while contributing to the modern evolution and revitalization of the salsa genre.
His early musical releases include songs such as "Regrésame mi corazón", "Tocando fondo", and "En sintonía". Rivera has emphasized the importance of collaborations in contemporary Latin music, participating in the collective track "THE SWING 2.0" alongside other new-generation salsa performers Christian Alicea, Luis Figueroa, and Luis Vazquez.
Between 2022 and 2026, Rivera built a consistent catalog of salsa releases. Following the 2024 singles "Yo Voy Pa'rriba", "Stay", "Déjame", and "Mal Necesario", he put out a series of singles in 2025 including "Princesa", "Hasta Abajo", "Coqueta", "No Quiero Extrañarte", and "Pensándote". In 2026, his work culminated in the singles "La Carrera" and "Ella", as well as the album "Mal Necesario".
