Jerry Rivera is a Puerto Rican salsa singer and songwriter who rose to prominence in the early 1990s. Born into a musical family, Rivera began his recording career in 1990, becoming a key figure in the salsa romántica style.
He achieved significant commercial success with his early work, most notably the album Cuenta Conmigo, which became one of the best-selling albums in the history of the salsa genre. Throughout a career spanning more than thirty years, his repertoire has focused primarily on salsa, while also incorporating merengue.
Rivera has remained active into the mid-2020s, releasing the 2024 album Empezando a Vivir. He has also released a series of recent singles, including Te Buscaré, Me Gusta Pegao', and No Le Cuentes in 2024, followed by 2025 tracks such as Coqueta, Castigo, and Pa' Eso Es La Vida, and the 2026 single Es una Locura.
