Eduardo Alberto Sarante Rosario, professionally known as Yiyo Sarante, was born on January 25, 1979, in Baní, Dominican Republic. Raised in a musical family, he began his career at an early age as a percussionist. In 1999, he debuted as a vocalist, performing in Dominican orchestras and working as a singer within the tourist resort area of Bávaro.
Sarante eventually transitioned into salsa, establishing himself as a leading voice in contemporary Dominican salsa. Known for his powerful vocal delivery and emotional interpretations of love and heartbreak, he achieved international recognition with hit singles such as Corazón de Acero and Pirata. His catalog includes albums such as El Comienzo, La Voz de la Salsa, Vol. 2, Salsa Vieja, Lo Nuevo de Yiyo Sarante, and Lo Mejor de Mi.
He has maintained a highly active recording schedule, spanning both salsa and merengue. In 2024, he released singles including Tu Golpe Soy YO, Herida, Simplemente Amigos, and Momentos. His active production continued into 2025 and 2026 with releases such as TOMASA, Cuánto Te Debo, El Vino De Tu Boca, Como Es, Homenaje a Tito Rojas, and Me Dio Pa Llamarte.
