
Juan Enrique López Llanos, professionally known as Johnny "El Bravo," is a Puerto Rican salsa musician and bandleader. Born on May 4, 1944, in Puerta de Tierra, Santurce, Puerto Rico, he was the fifth of six sons. He developed an interest in music during his childhood and later earned the moniker "La Salsa de Puerto Rico."
Throughout his career, he has been an active figure in salsa brava, recording extensively and eventually publishing the book "Una leyenda viva de la salsa y muchas historias" to document his experiences in the music industry. His early discography includes notable collaborations in the late 1970s, including work with singer Priscilla Flores.
In recent years, he has continued to release music regularly. His modern catalog includes albums like "55 Años de Salsa, Vol. 2" (2020), "Dos Hermanos y una Misma Salsa" (2024), "A Son De Salsa a Son De Plena" (2025), and "Enamorate Con Salsa Y Sabor" (2025), alongside holiday releases like "Exitos Navideños" (2024).
