Ángel Leonardo Valdez Morillo, known professionally as Menteabierta, is a Dominican singer-songwriter originating from the Los Mina sector in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Raised in the Puerto Rico neighborhood of Los Mina, he is known for his "salsa urbana" style, which blends traditional salsa music with contemporary urban rhythms including rap, reggaeton, and dembow.
Menteabierta debuted in July 2024 with his first single, "Eso Da Pena" (also released as "Eso Da Pena (El Capo)"). Following this release, he maintained a consistent output of singles, including "Sistema De Barrio (NAKY NAKY)", "Capea El Dough En Salsa", and "En Chupe" in 2024, and "En Chupe (Remix)", "Ella Llora Sola", and "Salte De Ese Cuerpo" in 2025.
In 2026, Menteabierta released "LA SITUACION" and "Bomba Carambomba", the latter performing as an homage to the legacy of salsa musician Ángel Canales.
