Janeth Guevara García, professionally known as Mariana la Sonera (and often referred to as "Mariana La Sonera de Venezuela"), is a Venezuelan salsa vocalist born in Caracas on January 19, 1965. Also associated with La Guaira, she is known for her powerful vocal delivery and traditional sonero style.
Over her career, she has performed on various international stages and received notable accolades, including winning the "Congo de Oro" award at the Festival de Salsa de Barranquilla in Colombia. Her work has received praise from influential figures in Latin music, most notably the legendary songwriter Tite Curet Alonso. Her live performances have included high-profile tributes to Celia Cruz, where she interpreted classic songs such as "Dile que por mí no tema" and "Cúcala."
In addition to her live performances, her recorded discography includes the single "Lo Mío Es Cantar."
