Bloque 53 is a salsa dura band formed in Barcelona, Spain, in 2006. The group features a multicultural lineup of musicians hailing from Venezuela, Cuba, Colombia, and Spain. Performing a mix of salsa, mambo, timba, and Latin jazz, the band quickly established a reputation within the European Latin music and dance scene.
Throughout their career, Bloque 53 has performed more than 200 concerts, appearing at major world music and Latin festivals across Europe. Their tours have taken them to countries including Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Poland, and Portugal, gaining popularity among dancers and salsa DJs alike.
The group's discography includes their 2010 album, La Ruta De La Salsa, followed by Te Hace Mover Los Pies and the single La Palomilla in 2011. In 2012, they released the album Tumba Puchunga, further solidifying their catalog in the global salsa dura scene.
