Osman Antunez is a Venezuelan percussionist, composer, and producer born on February 27, 1983, in the Altos de Jalisco neighborhood of Maracaibo, Zulia. Raised with an early interest in percussion, he was encouraged by his father and developed a passion for the Zulian gaita genre, playing the tambora gaitera for the first time at three years old. During his adolescence, he joined the Antonio Rosmini show band, establishing percussion as his profession.
Throughout his career, Antunez has collaborated with artists and ensembles such as Hildemaro, Irving Manuel, LCS Orquesta, and Los Panas. In 2017, he released the Latin jazz album Mis RaÃces (Defenderé Mi Tambo), aligning his work with traditional Venezuelan and Afro-Caribbean roots. He also released the single Lo que aún nos queda, featuring vocalist Jorge Daher.
Between 2022 and 2025, Antunez expanded his catalog with several recordings, starting with the 2022 single Algo Contigo. He followed this with the studio album Reunión De Hermanos in 2023, and live recordings in 2024 including Irimo: Live Session (En Vivo) and Reunión de Hermanos (En Vivo). In 2025, he released the single Pa’ Barreto Indestructible.
