Eduardo Antonio Jiménez López, born December 10, 1969, in Placetas, Villa Clara, Cuba, is a Cuban singer, songwriter, actor, and producer who also acquired Mexican citizenship. He has established a career spanning more than twenty years inside Latin entertainment, often referred to by the moniker "El Divo de Placetas."
His music has served as the soundtrack, opening theme, or closing theme for several telenovelas and films, including Preciosa, Alma rebelde, Yo amo a Juan Querendón, Pecadora, and the movie Before Night Falls (Antes que anochezca). He has also worked as an actor in several of these television and film projects.
