Pupy y Los Que Son Son is a Cuban timba, salsa, and son cubano group founded in 2001 by pianist, composer, and arranger César "Pupy" Pedroso. Pedroso, who was born on September 24, 1946, in Havana, was a prominent figure in modern Cuban popular music. Before launching his own orchestra, Pedroso began his career with Orquesta Revé and later co-founded the legendary group Los Van Van. In the summer of 2001, he left Los Van Van to establish Pupy y Los Que Son Son, which officially debuted in Havana on October 4, 2001. Pedroso led the group until his death in July 2022.
The group's discography includes albums such as "Pupy el Buenagente" in 2005, "Tranquilo Que Yo Controlo" in 2008, "Siempre Pupy" in 2011, and "Pasándola bien" in 2018. They have continued to release material, including the 2021 album "Re-Percusión" and the 2024 single "Somos Lo Que Somos".
