Alain Pérez is a Cuban bassist, singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist whose career spans more than two decades. Born in Cuba, he grew up influenced by popular Cuban music, flamenco, and jazz. He has established a versatile career as a solo artist, bandleader, and producer, working across several genres including timba, son cubano, latin jazz, salsa, and bolero.
Pérez has earned significant industry recognition for his recordings. His album, ADN, won Best Salsa Album at the Latin Grammys in 2017. He also won Best Traditional Tropical Album in 2021 alongside Issac Delgado and Orquesta Aragón, and participated in the 2023 Best Salsa Album project by the Plena 79 Salsa Orchestra featuring himself and Jeremy Bosch. Over his career, he has collaborated and shared the stage with prominent figures across multiple genres.
As a touring artist, Pérez completed a solo tour of the United States with performances in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and Tampa, which culminated in his debut solo performance in Puerto Rico at the Tropicoro Club in Isla Verde. His recent recorded output includes the 2024 singles Toda Una Vida and Batilongo, followed by a prolific series of 2025 releases, including the albums Bingo and MISA CRIOLLA (El latin jazz project), and the singles La Luna Es, Andaba Solo, and La Moneda.
