Ramón Ríos, professionally known as Moncho Rivera, is a Puerto Rican salsa singer, songwriter, and percussionist. Born in Puerto Rico, he is the nephew of the iconic salsa vocalist Ismael Rivera, known as "El Sonero Mayor." Because of this familial connection and his dedication to keeping his uncle's musical heritage alive, Moncho Rivera is often referred to as "El Heredero."
Rivera's discography in the salsa and timba genres began with the release of "Mi Regalo en Navidad" in 2006, followed by the album "Yo Tengo Lo Mio" in 2007. In 2013, he released two albums that paid direct tribute to his roots and performance style: "Riveristico con Clave" and "Recordando Al Sonero Del Pueblo." Beside his album releases, he also recorded the single "Tumba y Clave" in 2015.
In 2022, Rivera participated in the live series Sesiones Desde La Loma, resulting in the release of two live albums. He followed this in 2023 with his fifth production, "Qué Clase é Viaje." Rivera has remained active in the recording scene with singles such as "La Navidad Llegó" (2020), "¿Qué Sería De Mí?" (2024), "Llamada que Cura" (2024), and "La Cuna del Sabor" (2025).
