
Son Mujeres Orquesta is an all-female salsa and Latin jazz ensemble founded in Cali, Colombia. First gaining recognition in 2018, the orchestra developed a performance style combining music, dance, and theater, historically featuring up to 19 women on stage. Their central show, "La Salsa en Cuerpo de Mujer," showcases the history of salsa music from its African drumming roots to contemporary developments. The group has also performed at the Festival Mundial de Salsa de Cali.
The ensemble's lineup has featured musicians and performers including singers Ana LucÃa GarcÃa and Andrea Quintero (who also plays flute), vibraphonist Caterine Sánchez, bongosera Cateryn Zarabanda, violist Daniela Gallego, keyboardist Dayra Restrepo, and dancer Eliana Feijó.
The orchestra's discography includes the live albums "Salsa En Cuerpo De Mujer (En Vivo)" (2021) and "Clásicos De La Salsa (En vivo)" (2023). They have also active in releasing singles, including "Son Mujeres" in 2023, followed by "Arrebatá", "Las Mujeres Son", "Me Estafaste", and "Amigo fiel" in 2024, and "Somos Más Que Eso" in 2025.
