Armando Vega is a sonero and conguero who was raised in Detroit, Michigan, where he grew up surrounded by Latin music and culture. He began singing salsa at the age of seventeen. He received early mentoring from vocalist Herman Olivera, who is known for his work with Eddie Palmieri and the Spanish Harlem Orchestra. Years later, Vega performed alongside Olivera before a crowd of 30,000 people. He performs with his ensemble, the 313 Orchestra, also known as the Armando Vega Salsa Orquesta.
In his recording career, Vega has released several singles. He released 'Amor De Un Hijo' in 2021. In 2024, he issued the singles 'No Vale La Pena', 'Con Salsa Me Curo Yo', and 'Sonero Del Mundo Entero'. His subsequent releases include 'Yo Soy De Puerto Rico (Versión Salsa)' in 2025 and 'Llego Mi Oportunidad' in 2026.
