Jerry Medina is a Puerto Rican singer, trumpet player, and bandleader recognized for his work in salsa and Latin jazz. Raised in New York City, Medina was exposed to music at an early age through his mother, trumpet player Lydia Ortega. His early musical influences also included gospel music performed in local churches, which contributed to his diverse vocal and instrumental style.
Throughout his career, Medina has performed as both a vocalist and instrumentalist, demonstrating an ability to work across genres ranging from salsa and jazz to pop, ballads, and symphonic arrangements. He has spent over three decades performing in the Latin music industry.
