Gerardo Rivas is a Puerto Rican salsa and timba singer who was raised in a prominent musical household. He is the son of Jerry Rivas, a longtime lead vocalist for El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico. Growing up, Gerardo frequently accompanied his father to performances, which sparked his early passion for music. Beyond his career as a performer, Rivas has also worked as a radio personality for the Puerto Rican station Salsoul.
Rivas transitioned into a solo career with his debut album, "Dile Rivas", in 2023. His musical style blends energetic salsa and timba rhythms, designed to maintain an upbeat feel regardless of the lyric's theme. Since his debut, his catalog has expanded with several singles, such as "Te Pido Perdón" (2021), "Bésame" (2022), "En Peligro De Extinción" (2023), "El Apartamento" (2024), "Leila" (2024), "Padre e Hijo" (2025), and "Te Amo En Silencio" (2026). He has also documented his stage performances through live recordings, including the album "DILE RIVAS (En Vivo)" in 2025.
