Felipe Renán Peláez Rodríguez, professionally known as Felipe Peláez or "Pipe" Peláez, is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist born on February 7, 1976, in Maracaibo, Venezuela. Though born in Venezuela, he was raised in Maicao, Colombia, where his family resided. He is highly recognized for modernizing the traditional Colombian vallenato style, while also performing across several other genres including salsa, merengue, pop, and tropical music.
Peláez's recording career has been active from 2005 through 2025. As a versatile composer and performer, he has integrated traditional regional Colombian sounds with contemporary pop arrangements. His willingness to experiment with diverse musical styles is demonstrated by his cross-genre output, such as his 2024 single "Caminaré (Salsa Versión)".
In recent years, Peláez has maintained a prolific release schedule. In 2024, he released the album "Un Sueño Llamado Sinfónico" along with singles like "INALCANZABLE", "Parranderos", and "El Cielo Más Cerca".
