J.Laboy, also known by the moniker "La Jota," is a salsa musician and singer from Puerto Rico. Drawing deep influence from the rich musical heritage of Puerto Rico and Latin America, his style of salsa is characterized by energetic orchestration, fast tempos, and the integration of traditional folk music elements.
Since embarking on his recording career in 2019, J.Laboy has maintained a consistent output of singles. His early discography includes the 2020 tracks "Cosa Buena" and "Sube," followed by "La Cuarentena" in 2021. In 2022, his releases expanded to include "Hasta Que Amanezca," "Minuto," and the seasonal single "Llegó Navidad." His 2023 catalog featured the tracks "La Botella," its subsequent remix, "Se Acabó," and "Enamorado," a collaboration with vocalist Jimmy Sossa. He has continued his musical output into the mid-2020s, releasing traditional-leaning singles such as "La Trulla Me Llama" across 2024 and 2025.
