Pibo Marquez is a Venezuelan percussionist, producer, and composer who works in the genres of salsa, timba, and Latin jazz. Over his career, Marquez has performed his Afro-Latino music in over 40 countries, including tours through Mali, Finland, Colombia, Greece, and Brazil. He is also a recipient of the Ismael Rivera award.
As a bandleader, Marquez has performed and recorded under the names Pibo Marquez y Los "Manos Calientes" and Pibo Marquez y su Descarga Criolla. In 2003, he released the album "Las Manos Calientes", which was followed in 2007 by the compilation "The Best Of Hot Hands".
During the 2020s, Marquez released several albums and singles, including "Te Pones A Bailar" and "Afropolitanos" in 2020. In 2021, he released the single "Muchacho Barrigón". His 2022 releases included the album "5To Aniversario", along with singles such as "La Esquina de Fidel", "Arallue", and "La Mujer Que a Mi Me Gusta".
