Compota de Manana is a Latin music group formed in Barcelona, Spain, by percussionist and singer Erik Castillo. Castillo established the project following a decade of music studies in Cuba, which included training at ISA. He co-founded the group alongside pianist C. Pardo and singer Manuel Masaedo. The band's name refers to the Cuban rumbero term "manana," which denotes playing with heart, sensitivity, and authenticity.
The ensemble's musical style, sometimes described as "Alternatimba," integrates Cuban timba and salsa traditions with elements of rap, rock, and jazz. In 2026, the group was programmed to perform at the Festival Jazz Plaza in Havana, Cuba, preceding their "Compotate Tour" with scheduled dates across Spain, Europe, and Latin America.
Compota de Manana's catalog includes several single releases such as "Raro" (2021), "Baja la Velocidad" (2022), "Mi Familia" (2023), "El Vampiro" (2024), and "El Caldero" (2024). In 2025, they released the album "Cuestión de Tiempo" along with the singles "Loco de Qué" and "El Abanico."
