Urales Vargas, known professionally as DJ Buddha, is an American DJ, record producer, radio personality, music publisher, and record executive from Lawrence, Massachusetts. Born on March 15, 1980, Vargas was introduced to Caribbean musical styles, including merengue, salsa, and bachata, by his immigrant parents. He earned a broadcaster's license at the age of nine and began performing as a DJ at parties and clubs by the age of twelve.
Throughout his career, DJ Buddha has worked across several genres, including reggae, EDM, pop, and Latin music. He served as the official DJ for the reggae group T.O.K. for approximately six years and has collaborated with reggae artists such as Mighty Mystic, Mr. Easy, Mr. Vegas, and Red Rat. His production and collaborative credits also extend to prominent artists including Pitbull, Afrojack, Chris Brown, Daddy Yankee, and Christian Alicea.
As a recording artist and producer, he has been actively releasing music since 2017. His discography features the 2021 single "La Verde," followed by a series of 2022 releases that include "El Con Con," "El Con Con (The Remixes)," "Sin Ni Uno," "Que Te Toca," "Que Rica," and "Morning In Gideon (Remix) [feat. Sizzla]." His subsequent releases include "Turn On" and "Touch" in 2023, "Es Un Secreto" in 2024, and the 2025 singles "Carrusel" and "São Paulo EP."
