
Edwin "El Calvito" Reyes is a Puerto Rican salsa singer and performer born in 1974. His musical career began in 1993, when he performed his first concert in his hometown of Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico. Alongside his musical pursuits, Reyes served for over 20 years in the United States Army. This military service uniquely positioned him to perform salsa music for audiences in international locations including Iraq, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, and South Korea. He has frequently been referred to as the "Ambassador of NEW SALSA."
Over the years, Reyes has expanded his presence in the global salsa scene. In 2012, he performed at the Asian Salsa Congress, a seven-day international gathering of dancers and musicians. He has maintained a consistent output of studio recordings, with a catalog featuring singles such as "Ahora Me Toca a Mí" and "Salsa Con Trova en Navidad" in 2022, followed by "Mi Antojo" and "Que Sabes Tu de Amor" in 2023.
Reyes's subsequent releases include the 2024 singles "BAILA CHA CHA CHA", "El Coqui & El Chileno", and "Mi Tremendo Parrandón". In 2025, he released the album "Colaboranza Global, Vol. 1", along with the singles "El Karma", "Orgulloso De Ser Latino", and "Veneno De Amor". His catalog also features his 2026 single "Paloma Boba".
