Havana D’Primera

Havana D'Primera is a Cuban timba and salsa band founded by Alexander Abreu on October 4, 2007. The band, which comprises a 16-member collective of Cuban musicians, performed its debut live show at the Cabaret Turquino in the Hotel Habana Libre in Havana, Cuba. Before establishing the group, Abreu performed with prominent Cuban ensembles such as Irakere and Paulo FG y su Elite, and contributed to recordings for Juan Formell y los Van Van, Klimax, Pachito Alonso, and Manolín "El médico de la salsa".

The group's musical style incorporates timba, salsa, and son cubano, blending Afro-Cuban rhythms, jazz, and contemporary elements. They have also worked with other Latin styles, including bachata on releases like the 2020 single "Energías Oscuras (Bachata)". Their album discography features releases such as "Cantor del Pueblo" (2018) and "Será Que Se Acabó" (2021).

Havana D'Primera has maintained steady production into the 2020s. Their later work includes the 2023 album "Pueblo Griffo", alongside singles such as "CU-PR" (2023), "La Carta" (2024), and "La Bandera" (2024).
