
Tania Pantoja, born Tania Pantoja Esther Palmero in Havana, Cuba, is a Cuban singer specializing in salsa, timba, and bolero. Having sung as an amateur since childhood, she began her professional musical career in 1994 as a member of the group Sonora Caribeña. She also gained experience working as a soloist at Havana cabarets, including the Cabaret Nacional de Prado, El Palmero, and El Parisién.
Over the course of her career, Pantoja performed in various nightclubs and collaborated with bands such as Lady Salsa and Azúcar Negra. She achieved wider recognition as a vocalist for the Cuban group Bamboleo, a key ensemble in the timba genre that also launched other prominent performers like Haila and Vania Borges. As a solo artist, Pantoja has performed works written by notable Cuban composers and directors, including Lazarito Valdés, Germán Nogueira, and José Luis Cortés.
Pantoja has maintained a steady recording career, releasing albums and singles within the salsa and timba genres. Her solo releases include the albums Definitivamente (2019) and Asà Soy (2021), alongside singles such as La que manda soy yo (2023), Contigo Viene la Felicidad (2025), and Esta Es Mi Salsa (2025).
