Rouel Camilo Pier Jeréz, known professionally as El Clasicom, was born on June 22, 1980, in the Las Frutas sector of Los Mina, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Prior to his career in music, Pier Jeréz was an athlete, earning titles as a national, Central American, and Pan American Taekwondo champion, and serving as a trainer for the Dominican national team.
As a singer, songwriter, and arranger, El Clasicom developed a distinct style known as "Salsa Urbana," which incorporates elements of reggaeton, street expression, and hip-hop into traditional salsa. He gained initial popularity with the song "A la tipa le dió pa mi" (released in his catalog as "Le Dio Pami" in 2025). His active catalog also includes the 2016 single "America," the 2023 single "El Cementerio De Afuera," and the album "Salsa Urbana."
