
Isaac Felipe Delgado Ramirez, known professionally as Issac Delgado, was born on September 11, 1962, in Mariano, Havana, Cuba. He began his professional music career in 1983 when he joined the Orquesta de Pancho Alonso. In 1987, he became the lead vocalist for the group Galaxia.
Delgado subsequently became one of the founding members of the landmark Cuban group NG La Banda, playing a key role in the development and evolution of the timba genre. He later established a solo career as a composer, vocalist, and bandleader, earning the nickname "El Chévere de la Salsa."
Throughout his career, Delgado has performed and recorded in genres running from timba and salsa to son cubano. His later discography includes the albums "Cha Cha Chá: Homenaje a lo tradicional" in 2021, "Mujeres Con Sombrero" in 2022, and "Mira como vengo" in 2025, alongside singles such as "Enamorado" (2024) and "Tú pensabas" (2025).
